In December 2024, as the culminating event of the Lantern Art Space Fellowship, we presented our proposal for the TALE Festival at the Goethe-Institut Lagos. The showcase offered an in-depth look at our journey so far—tracing our research process, conceptual development, and the steps taken to gain access to the former Secretariat building. We shared a short documentary film, spatial studies, and an outline of the proposed framework for the pilot festival, offering a first glimpse into our vision to reimagine the site as a living archive of cultural memory and public imagination. The event served as both a milestone and a catalyst—opening up dialogue, inviting feedback, and laying the foundation for what’s to come. It also marked the beginning of new conversations with prospective collaborators and institutional partners, as we extended an open invitation to join us on the journey ahead.
